Wednesday 8/28

Today we continued with the distributive property. We started multiplying polynomials by polynomials instead of just monomials by polynomials like yesterday.

Today we looked at adding polynomials some more and you completed the pyramid worksheet. Then we combined all the things we have learned so far into the distributive property.

Tuesday 8/20

Today we continued working with exponents.  We learned how to raise a product to a power, how to divide with exponents, and how to raise a quotient to a power.  We also learned how to manipulate exponents to solve equations.

Today we learned four properties of exponents. Negative exponents, the zero exponent, multiplying two terms with the same bases and power of a power. Your homework requires you to know and use all of these properties.

Thursday 8/15

Today we learned how to fill in the "Magic X" in class.  A "Magic X" is completed by filling in the missing numbers so that the top is the product of the left and right sides, while the bottom is the sum of the left and right sides.

Tomorrow will be our first test (covers the Magic X and the introduction from the first day).
