Monday 3/31

I was at the district office all day today instead of in class with you. :-(

In my absence, you reviewed transformations with a warm-up activity, cut out some card sets that we'll use for an activity tomorrow, and got a head-start on your homework with any class time remaining.

Homework #98: Finish the Transformations worksheet
Solutions: Transformations answer key

Friday 3/28

Congratulations on making it through your first week of our fourth quarter geometry unit. This week we covered transformations, including translations, reflections, and rotations.  Next week we will be revisiting this concepts so feel free to review your notes and strengthen your understanding over the weekend.

Here is this weekend's extra credit:

Tuesday 3/25

We took a look at our third transformation today: rotations in Notes #55.

We agreed in class that of the three different transformations we've learned so far, rotations are the hardest. They require the most amount of careful work and will need the most practice.

Homework #95: Workbook pgs 1-2 (Aaron's Designs)

Monday 3/24

Welcome back!

Today we began our geometry unit by taking a look at two different types of transformations: translations and reflections with Notes #54.

Homework #94: Draw a ΔABC on a piece of graph paper.
  1. Reflect ΔABC about the y-axis.
  2. Reflect ΔABC about the x-axis.
  3. Translate ΔABC 3 units to the right and 4 units down.

Friday 3/7

Enjoy your spring break, everyone!

Slow down a bit, take some time off, and enjoy some leisure activities that you don't have time for while focusing on your academics. Get outside, and spend time with your friends and family!

For those looking to boost their grade a bit, I highly recommend taking advantage of the Spring Break Extra Credit. (If you listened to me, your workbook should be under your bed or at the bottom of your closet)

We'll see you back in two weeks for some geometry with the new Common Core State Standards!
